Some Pronominalization Issues in Generation of Texts in Romance Languages

The machine answers must 1) give the user the information he is expecting for, 2) formulate this information in a consistent style. These two tasks give raise to the following components of a generation system : a reasonning module (expert system) deals with the What to say? question and returns a semantic representation of the information that is to be conveyed to the user; this semantic representation is translated into a text by a linguistic generation component which deals with the How to say it? question. This paper is concerned only with the linguistic generation component.
