Analysis and testing of LC3L type bidirectional DC-DC converter for constant voltage

This paper explores a new bidirectional dc-dc converters(BDCs) composed of two full bridge converters. The steady-state of the dual-bridge dc/dc resonant converter with a series-parallel resonant tank is analyzed with ac analysis approximation in this paper. A variety of characteristics as a constant voltage gain conditions can be identified from the analysis results. With the LC3L type dual-full bridge resonant converter, the analysis results are applied to the converter design. The investigations are confirmed by PSIM simulations and experiment of a laboratory model to validate the analysis of converter.
