Analysis of serum and salivary cytokines among patients with oral cGVHD after Allo-HSCT.

Chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD), an alloimmune and autoimmune disease, is the leading cause of later illness and death after allogeneic hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) (Kroger et al., 2016). Oral cavity is a main organ involved in cGVHD, affecting 45-83% of cGVHD patients (Fall-Dickson, Pavletic, Mays, & Schubert, 2019). Covering lichen planus-like changes (diagnostic feature), erythema, ulceration, mucoceles, etc., the clinical presentations of oral cGVHD are diverse and can influence any site in oral cavity such as oral mucosa, salivary glands and periodontium (Bassim et al., 2015).
