Epoxide Formation from Aldehydes and Ketones-A Modified Method for Preparing the Corey-Chaykovsky Reagents

Abstract Trimethylsulfoxonium iodide and potassium tert-butoxide in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is a very efficient process for the multi-kilogram scale preparation of epoxides from aldehydes and ketones.
