Reliability evaluation of complex distribution system based on GO method

It is of vital significance for the operation of power system in stability to evaluate the reliable indexes of complex distribution system rapidly and efficiently. The GO method with success-guidance technology and its application in reliability evaluation of power system are introduced in this paper. Firstly, a GO model of a four-feeder radial network taking account of load shifting restriction is present. Secondly, the reliability assessment method for complex radial distribution network with branches is developed, and the reasons that the complexity of the model would not increase along with the system scale are demonstrated. Finally, this method is used to evaluate the reliability of feeder 4 of bus 6 of the IEEE RBTS (reliability test system), and the system reliability indices are obtained. Since GO method does not based on searching fault sets, the calculation will not become more complex with the system scale increasing, and precise system reliability indices can be obtained rapidly. Test results show that GO is a simple and time-saving method, which is insensitive to the complexity of the system, so it is a suitable tool for reliability assessment of complex radial distribution systems.
