The whole design procedure of a 8 kW air cooling PEM fuel cell stack at ambient pressure and temperature conditions was introduced from technical requirements of the emergency power system to experimental tests, including bipolar plate design, stack assemble, stack volt-ampere characteristic test, single cell voltage test and stack stability test. The results show that the method of stack design is rational, feasible and effective.
