An example of a chaotic micromixer: the cross-channel micromixer

Abstract In this article dedicated to micromixing, we concentrate here on a particular micromixer – the ‘cross-channel micromixer’. This mixer exploits an oscillatory perturbation to induce chaotic trajectories, favoring mixing. We present here theory, numerical simulations and experiments performed on this system.
