Abstract Cystofix is commonly used to drain urine temporarily from the bladder. Common complications are hematuria, bladder wall edema and bladder spasm due to irritation by the catheter itself. A case is described where a Cystofix catheter became curled and knotted inside the bladder, probably due to deep introduction or increased detrussor contraction occurring with the irritation of the bladder wall.
