Simulation and visualization of industrial processes in unity

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) have been combined with 3D visualization and used for optimization, troubleshooting, and training with a variety of industrial processes. The Unity 3D game engine has been used to create interactive and immersive 3D environments to visualize and communicate simulation results between users of varying experience and expertise. Simulation results are integrated with photorealistic 3D models of equipment and facility environments, and combined with a game-like interface to review equipment failures and provide interactive training scenarios. The development and functionality of several projects from the steel and power industries are discussed.
