Calibration with single measurement in microwave imaging system for breast cancer detection

Microwave imaging systems for breast cancer detection go through calibration process to extract tumor response from measured data. All the calibration methods that have been proposed so far require multiple measurements. In this paper, we propose a novel calibration method that requires only single measurement. Simulation results with 3D hemispherical breast model show that the restored image is better than that obtained with conventional array rotate calibration in terms of signal to mean ratio, signal to clutter ratio, and localization error.
