Q VALUES FOR B$sup 10$(He$sup 3$,n)N$sup 12$AND N$sup 1$$sup 2$

Using the reaction Si/sup 28/(n, alpha )Mg/sup 25/ in a surface-barrier detector as a neutron spectrometer, a comparison measurement is made of the energies of neutron groups from the reaction B/sup 10/(He/sup 3/,n)N/sup 12/ with B/sup 10/ alpha n)N/sup 13/ as a calibration standard. A ground-state Q value, Q/sub 0/ = 1.581 plus or minus 0.009 Mev, is found for B/sup 10/(He/sup 3/,n)N/ sup 12/, and two states of N/sup 12/ are lo cated at excitation energies 0.994 plus or minus 0.020 and 1.22 plus or minus 0.03 Mev.
