Effects of VT microbes on compost produced by chicken manure plus wheat straw were studied in the present experiments. Two disposal methods with or without inoculation of VT microbes were designed. The composting process lasted for 24 days with 0.2% inoculating VT microbes in the compost. The physical, chemical and microbiological indexes of the composts in process, the mechanisms of VT microbes in mixture accelerating composting process were studied. In field test of maize, brassica and begonia, fertilizer efficiencies were compared with and without inoculating.Though these tests,it has been indicated that inoculation of VT microbes could lead to higher composting temperature, slowing temperature decline rate in late maturing period, lowering C/N ratios compared with the treatment without VT microbe addition,It also was found the numbers of bacteria, fungi, microzyme and actinomyces were larger and the content of cellulose and urease activity were higher in the inoculated composting than that with no inoculating treatment. The test of fertility of composting products showed that more yields and higher quality of maize, brassica and more view and admire of begonia in the inoculated treatment than with no inoculation. That means inoculating VT microbes in the compost enhanced microbial activity and abundantly decomposed and used organic matter, thus,it led to higher temperature and better composting quality. It may be suggested that inoculating VT microbes in composting process be effective to decompose organic matter, raise temperature, shorten composting time, and increase composting quality.
