Identification of Linear Models for a Flexible Structure

Abstract The aim of the work presented in this paper is the evaluation of the performance of state-space subspace-based identification methods when applied to the identification of linear models for a flexible structure. A simulation study has been performed to this purpose, by making use of a high order model of a rotating flexible beam and three identification algorithms have been compared. The results show that the considered algorithms provide very similar performances and they all represents viable approaches to the identification problem.
