난곡 신교통시스템(GRT) 도입에 따른 신대방역사 기능 변화 고찰

The Urban Rapid Transit System plays a core role in relieving traffic congession and organizing fluent traffic flows on the road. The system has become a backbone in the daily life of the people living in urban areas. With a view to measuring against heavy road traffic load, Seoul City Government has announced to introduce GRT system, a new transit system in Korea, in chronic traffic jammed Nangok region of Guanak-gu, and is currently in the middle of implementing it. In conjunction with the Nangok GRT project on the move, Shin Dae Bang station in Line no 2 is now transforming into a transfer point with a novel concept of design. The station is being renovated to grow up to become a multi-functional complex where Nangok GRT line is joined to one end, and also additional works are planned for environmental improvement. Upon the review of multiple performance of a urban railway station and the study of functional transformation of Shin Dae Bang station, the author, in this thesis, would look into directions toward which future elevated urban railway stations are required to be oriented.
