When a local buckling in plate girder web panels due to bending takes place under service loads, a distortion-induced fatigue failure may occur. In hybrid girders, web panels that have a lower yield strength than the flange yielding. Current design equations for local bend buckling cannot be used for hybrid girders since they consider only the elastic range. In this study, the local bend buckling strength of web panels under partially-yielded conditions was investigated through the finite element analysis.
