Design and Realization of MDAS for Transportation Safety Management

This paper introduced a method of applying the multi-dimensional analysis technology to the analysis of GPS monitoring data of commercial vehicles, for the purpose of solving the problems of the lack of pertinence and validity which exist in the process of decision-making in the roadway transportation safety management nowadays. After analyzing the application state in existence, ageneral solution of MDAS for the transportation safety management, including the global Network Topology framework and the five-layer system structure was presented. Moreover,a data extractor based on the DTS and the trigger was designed, and the non-spacial and spacial data were preprocessed with generalizability theory and the method of the nearest point estimation map-matching.Then,the snowflake model of the data warehouse,MDAS data collection and the data analysis engine based on the MDX were devised. On the basis of the above technologies, the MDAS for Chongqing City’s roadway transportation safety management was developed and realized. The real application shows that MDAS meet the requirement of the decision support in transportation safety management.
