GROWTH OF KTIOPO4-GROUP CRYSTALS FROM A SOLUTION IN A MELT AND THEIR PROPERTIES

We studied the characteristics of the growth of the crystals KTiOPO/sub 4/, RbTiPOP/sub 4/ and TlTiOPO/sub 4/ from a solution in a melt in the ternary systems M/sub 2/O-TiO/sub 2/-P/sub 2/O/sub 5/ (M-K, Rb, Tl) and some properties of these compounds. The constitution diagrams of the systems M/sub 2/O-TiO/sub 2/-P/sub 2/O/sub 5/ (M-K, Rb, Tl) in the region of crystallization of the compounds MTiOPO/sub 4/ were studied with the help of high-temperature microscopy and differential thermal analysis. The temperature dependence of the solubility of KTiOPO/sub 4/ along the pseudobinary section KTiOPO/sub 4/-K/sub 5/P/sub 3/O/sub 10/ was measured. The temperature dependences of their dielectric constant and electrical conductivity as well as the temperature dependence of the intensity of second harmonic generation (SHG) under laser irradiation were measured.
