Diffusion in reverberation rooms

Abstract A general, qualitative discussion is given of diffusion as it applies to reverberant acoustical test rooms, including the following topics: definitions of diffusion; reasons for desiring diffusion; methods for evaluating the state of diffusion in a room; methods of achieving diffusion; proposals for direct experimental checks on the adequacy of diffusion in a given test room.
