OPTIMIZATION OF SENSOR AND ACTUATOR LOCATIONS AND THEIR SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS

The optimal sensor and actuator location problem is considered. First, the existence theorem of the optimal sensor and actuator locations is obtained. Then necessary and suffcient conditions for the optimal locations are derived. Finite-dimensional approximation method to find the optimal sensor and actuator locations is developed. The case of sensor and actuator noise is considered, and the sensitivity of optimality is addressed.
