Hubungan Makan Pagi dan Tingkat Konsumsi Zat Gizi dengan Daya Konsentrasi Siswa Sekolah Dasar

School age is the period of fast child growth so that children need suficient and balanced nutrition. Nutrition deficiency during school age will cause children to be weak, get tired easily and ailing. Consequently, they are often absent from scholl and face difficulties to concentrate in their study so that this affect their academic achievement. This cross sectional study study was aimed to analyze the association of breakfast habits and nutrient intake with concentration. Sample as many as 74 students of grade 4 and 5 of SDN Wonocatur and SDN Sumberejo I, Kediri District were taken by stratified random sampling. Data were collected through interview using structured questionnaire, 24 hours food recall and food frequency questionnaire. Data were processed with SPSS software, and association among variables was analyzed by using Chi square test, Fisher Exact test, Mann Whitney and Spearman correlation. The results showed that most of the respondents had habit of having breakfast (56.8%), low intake of calories (51.4%), carbohydrate (62.2%) protein (66.2%), vitamin C (83.3%) and iron (66.2%). Most of the students had low concentration power (68.9%). This research showed that there was association between breakfast habit and learning concentration, as well as between nutrient intake (calorie, carbohydrate, protein and iron) and learning concentration.
