IRVING BAKER FRAN DURDECK ELIZABETH H. ROWELL MIMI SCHMITT Rowelt is an assistant professor at Rhode Island College, Providence, teaching courses in elementary and secondary reading. Baker, an associate professor at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, teaches reading and children s literature courses. Schmitt is a high school English teacher in New Haven, Connecticut. Durdeck teaches at the Singer Learning Center, Manchester, Connecticut.
