Concrete Damage under Fatigue Loading in Uniaxial Compression

INTRODUCTION During fatigue loading, the properties of concrete undergo alterations that result in damage. The progressive damage of a concrete element can be observed from the evolution of various deformation parameters, such as total strain, residual strain, stiffness degradation, strength degradation, heat dissipation due to microcrack, crack growth, and speed of sound in concrete.1,2 Based on previous investigations on the fatigue behavior of concrete, the damage evolution for each parameter is nonlinear.3-7
