Design of IMC controller with anti-saturation for PMSM compressor system

In the permanent magnetic synchronous motor (PMSM) single rotator compressor system, the position coder is not used because of the limitation of working environment. Consequently, the load torque vibration of the compressor during each mechanical period is serious due to the restriction of location estimation accuracy, also causing big velocity fluctuation, high noise and low efficiency when the system running in low speed. In this paper, based on internal model control (IMC) structure analyses, anti-saturation IMC control method is proposed, and is applied to a salient PMSM. With the motor velocity and rotor position accurate estimated, the low-frequency noise and vibration of compressor are notable reduced. Simulation and experimental results prove the effectiveness and practicability of the method.
