BOF hood life cycle cost improvement program

Alloy 625 has proved to be an effective weld overlay to reduce wear on BOF hoods due to corrosion/erosion mechanisms. Two case studies are presented where significant increases in production and equipment reliability havebeen achieved through the use of Alloy 625 weld overlays.
