On the operation of a bistable CSTR: a strategy employing stochastic resonance

We shall attempt to show that by allowing the reactor to operate in the presence of a weak periodic forcing signal along with a suitable noise input offers a means for switching between steady-state regimes via a mechanism of stochastic resonance. The analysis in particular focuses its attention on the observance of stochastic resonance in a chemically reacting system and discusses its properties as a first step towards using its potential capabilities
