Optimal control of the groundwater regime on two-way engineering reclamation systems

In this article, the author focuses on solving the problem of optimal stabilization of the groundwater level (GWL) within the required accuracy of regulation under the effect of uncertain disturbances in the form of precipitation and evaporation. In this case, the accumulating effect of the zone of aeration is not taken into account, which puts the control system under the most rigid conditions and is a certain approximation to the real situation. In regard to the humid zone with unstable natural moistening the maintenance of an optimal GWL regime is related to the need for conducting drainage and irrigation measures on two-way engineering reclamation systems. The theoretical results presented here form the basis of the designs of automated drainage and irrigation systems in the regions of the Belorussian Lowland and basin of the Bebzia River in Poland. The use of the proposed methods of control permits increasing the crop yield by 50-70%.
