Nonlocal Theory of DCLC Modes in a Plasma Slab with an Ambipolar Field

Nonlocal features of Drift Cyclotron Loss Cone modes have been studied in a plasma slab with an ambipolar field. The method is based on an integral equation in wavenumber space. Several new effects on Drift Cyclotron Loss Cone modes associated with the Doppler shift in frequency, the modification of the real space wave-particle interaction, and the change in gyration frequency of particles due to an ambipolar field have been discussed qualitatively.
