TN 1945 Stanyon and Warner1 first emphasized ¦¦¦ the association of primary atypical pneumonia with Stevens-Johnson syndrome in a well-docu¬ mented series of 17 cases. In the following three years, other independent investigators reported the relationship between primary atypical pneu¬ monia with cold agglutinins in the serum and the mucocutaneous syndrome.2"4 These observa¬ tions were later confirmed by Strom5 in Sweden in his large series of cases.
