Design of Computer Integrated Control Systems of Flexible Manufacturing Systems

The advances in flexible manufacturing system (FMS) control need a more powerful computer integrated controller. In this paper, a hierarchical and intelligent FMS control framework based on integration of Petri net (PN) theory, artificial intelligent techniques and Kimemia and Gershwin's hierachical scheduling algorithm is formulated to construct such an intelligent PN-based FMS controller.
