This paper discusses the modelling method—Activity Cycle Diagrams (ACDs) which is based on Petri Net in manufacturing system, and applied to discrete event dynamic system (DEDS). Based on expert system and simulation, the method is presented that is applied to planning, scheduling, simulating and controlling of manufacturing system. At last, the Intelligent Manufacturing Cell Controller - Experimental system (IMCC—E) is introduced, which is being developed by Institute of Manufacturing Systems (IMS) of Beijing University of Aero. and Astro. (BUAA). The project is supported by CIMS PROGRAM, CHINA.
