Impact of FACTS devices in automatic generation control of a deregulated power system

In this paper, the impact of integration of FACTS devices viz. TCPS and TCSC on Automatic Generation Control (AGC) of a two area thermal-thermal deregulated power system have been studied in order to enhance the performance of responses such as frequency deviation and oscillation damping, deviation of tie line power between the areas and power generated by GENCOs. The comparison of results between those obtained with inclusion and exclusion FACTS devices in the system has been shown using simulations.
