The Measurement of Distributing Pressure in Molding Cavity Based on Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors

A kind of fiber Bragg grating press sensor with uniform strength beam is presented, in order to measure the distributing pressure in a molding cavity.The wavelength increment of the sensor is linearly proportional to the pressure,and the linearity can attain 0.999 92.The measurement of distributing pressure in molding cavity has been achieved by using six fiber Bragg grating press sensors embedded into the moulds.The force acted on the sensor is transferred by a metal pole.Good results have been obtained.During powder extrusion experiment,the distribution of pressure in cavity and its change have been observed,which is very important for design and fabrication of mould in future.
