A Prototype of IoT based Remote Controlled Car for Pentesting Wireless Networks

This era is thought to be the most secure, with everyone leaning towards security as compared to ease of interoperability. But, with the rise of gadgets, there is a rise in threats. Most of the threats lie in the insecure communication channel that is the Internet. The wireless networks have become the bull’s eye for many attackers, since it is very easy to get into any wireless network as long as you remain in the proximity of that particular wireless network. Penetration Testing helps you to secure a computer system, network or web applications that allows you to gain high security issues which also helps to find vulnerabilities that an attacker could exploit. The project aims at building a remote controlled car from the scratch. This car will then capture all the surrounding WiFi connections and hack any one of the connections. The car will be operated over the Internet and the commands for the penetration testing of the wireless network would be executed from a remote location. Technically, we performed different penetration tests with virtual systems, tools and using private networks. The attacks that are performed were: Man in the middle attack, Password cracking, wireless hacking and traffic sniffing. The results and implementation is discussed and summarized.
