Chronic post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the abdominal aorta diagnosed by duplex doppler ultrasonography

Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the abdominal aorta is a rare pathology. To date aortography, CT and ultrasonography are the only diagnostic tools available for establishing the diagnosis. We report a case in which the presence of a continuous bidirectional flow in the neck of the pseudoaneurysm, as seen with duplex Doppler ultrasonography, confirmed the diagnosis.
