A study of the factors influencing the design of daytime running lights using quality function deployment combine Kansei Engineering

Automotive parts industry is the main of Thailand's economy including manufacturing, marketing, employment, technology development and they relate to other industrials. Nowadays, the customers can access to the information of products by many ways in order that the emotion of customers is the importance of developing the products. For the car, the Exterior Design is the first thing that the designer must be considered due to the exterior shape of the car has been highly influenced the customers and selling the cars. Recently, the exterior parts have significant increases of the demand for Thailand is Daytime Running Lights (DRL) because it can be reduced the accident on the road. Therefore, the objective of the present research is to propose for studying on the factors influenced the design of DRL. The method was using Quality Function Deployment (QFD) combine Kansei Engineering which it relates the emotion of the customers and the population sample was collected in Bangkok area. The results were performed that the customers concerned about the safety of the user and other people. In the Engineering Characteristic, the concerned point was about the Light type of DRL. The results of Kansei words were "luxury", "fresh light", "standard" and "international standard". Finally, the present research provided the concept design of DRL for line type and spot type.
