This chapter aims to describe and illustrate the range of instruments that are typically available for the measurement of RF field quantities. It also includes coverage of contact current and limb current measuring devices. The chapter describes and illustrates the range of instruments that are typically available for the measurement of RF field quantities. Some instruments used for the measurement of very low frequencies are also described. In very high power transmitters, power and control system fields can interfere with RF leakage tests, and it can be useful to reduce or cut off the RF signal and investigate the other circuitry for possible low frequency fields. Mostly, a flat platform device is used to measure currents induced in the body at frequencies below about 100–120 MHz. Special instruments offer scaling in conventional power density and also in terms of the percentage compliance with the current IEEE limit values, such that exceeding a limit results in an indication of greater than 100%..
