factor was tested by the method of Ratnoff and Davie (1963). Briefly, 0-1 ml. of the solution to be tested was incubated for 2 min. at 370 with an equal volume of a mixture of kaolin and Gliddex. Hageman factor-deficient citrated plasma (0-1 ml.) was then added and the incubation continued for an additional 8 min. The mixture was then recalcified with 0-1 ml. 0-025 M-calcium chloride solution and the clotting time determined. The kaolin-Gliddex mixture was composed of 10 mg. of kaolin per ml. of a suspension of soy bean phosphatides in saline.
