Telecommunications Power System Reliability in the U.K.

This paper describes the U.K. exchange power systems and their reliability targets which are successfully attained in practice. Elemental parts of the power systems are discussed in detail, and the advantages of a new rectifier sub-system explained. Advances towards distributed power systems are then proposed.
