OOK and PAM optical modulation using a single drive push pull silicon Mach-Zehnder modulator

We report a successful demonstration of 4 level pulse amplitude modulation using a travelling-wave silicon Mach-Zehnder modulator. The modulator operates up to 20 Gbaud PAM-4 modulation with measured error free OOK operation of 35 Gbps.
