AJoint Unitary Precoding andScheduling Algorithm for MIMO-OFDM System withLimited Feedback

Thecapacity ofMIMO-OFDM system can be increased substantially through spatial multiplexing withlinear unitary precoding technique whichrequires thatfullchannel stateinformation should besentback to transmitter. Toreducethefeedback overhead, we give a codebook ofprecoding matrices thatisknownto bothtransmitter andreceiver. Amatrixisselected at thereceiver andthenitsindexisconveyed to the transmitter using a smallnumber ofbits.Inthiswork, we proposea new proportional fairnessscheduler integrated withunitary precoding for MIMO-OFDM downlink system. Thesystem-level simulation results showthattheproposed scheduler achieves a better balancebetweenoptimizing cellthroughput and guaranteeing fairness amongusers thanotherexisting scheduler.
