Growing congestion is a problem faced by cities around the world. Ridesharing is a recent alternative in which people with similar travel plans travel together. Many studies have focused on ridesharing, including taxi-sharing. In present research on the taxi-sharing, a few models are adopted to optimize the fare sharing and the route choice simultaneously. No research has focused on taxi-sharing to consider the difference between off-peak hours and rush hours. In this paper, the authors take into account the benefit of both drivers and passengers on the principle of equity, and they establish a route choice and fare optimization model for taxi-sharing during off-peak hours and rush hours, respectively. Finally, LINGO is used to solve the model, and the validity of the model is verified by an example. The result shows that the rate and the route choice can satisfy both sides.
