H IPCAL : State of the Art of OS and Network virtualization solutions for Grids

This document is the first report of our research activities c oncerning the HIPCAL project. It briefly reminds the projects aims, then provides a state of the art of the different solutions availa ble to fit our requirements and finally gives conclusions of prelimi nary experiments made over Grid5000 of the selected solutions.
