The characteristics of thrust vectoring of supersonic Coanda jet issuing from a two-dimensional nozzle were investigated by experimental flow visualizations and numerical simulations. For various nozzle heights, Coanda wall radii and the jet stagnation pressures, the flow characteristics focusing on shock structures and flow's attachment and separation over the curved wall were studied by comparison of both the experimental and the numerical results. The study was extended to application of the Coanda jet tangentially injected over a curved wall to control the coflowing supersonic main jet direction. Optimized operating conditions and its limitations of the coflowing vector control technique for highly compressible flows were presented.
