Symbol synchronization in OFDM system for time selective channel conditions

Typically symbol synchronization in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been carried out using correlation and a training symbol like in Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) or in two parts as in Digital Terrestrial Video Broadcasting (DVB-T). In DVB-T first the robust synchronization is searched by using guard interval correlation structure. After that a fine symbol synchronization is performed using scattered pilots. DVB-T methods are typically designed for fixed reception. In this paper the performances of the above mentioned algorithms are investigated and simulated in a mobile channel.
