A scraped type ice making system which has a double tube type heat exchanger with shaft is introduced as a slurry-ice making one. It is well known that mechanical agitation within the bulk of a process liquid or near a vessel wall enhances the heat transfer between the wall and the bulk liquid. A heat transfer between test water in inner tube and refrigerant in outer tube has characteristics of scraped-film heat transfer with phase change. Local heat transfer coefficients and correlation on the wall of the outer column of the exchanger was obtained from an experimental method. An experiment is performed by varying shaft speed, water flow rate as a operating condition.
