An Analytical Approach to a Class of Battles

This paper shows that analytical techniques can be applied in the analysis of a wide class of combat problems by specializing the inputs of a general functional model. The generating functions of the losses, and the corresponding expected values and variances, are derived and expressed as integrals with respect to a supplementary time variable.
