A study on auto-reclosing strategy for large-scale wind farm transmission line

The large-scale wind farm composed of doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) has become quite familiar over the last few years. These generators are driven by power converters which get small percentage of the power from the grid. An obvious drawback of the DFIG is that it is very sensitive to grid disturbances, especially to voltage dips. It becomes necessary to study on the auto-reclosing process of wind farm transmission line. Firstly, the significances of the auto-reclosing using on wind power transmission line are introduced. Secondly, the reclosing conditions for a successful reclosing and the special issues of auto-reclosing used in wind farm are pointed out. And then a wind power sending-out electromagnetic transient model has been built, according to the actual situation of wind power sending system. The performances of auto-reclosure under different delivery structures and network voltage level have been simulated. Finally, the simulation results are summarized, and an auto-reclosing strategy for large-scale wind farm transmission line is presented.
