The method for controlling low power state in mobile handset

A method for controlling a low-power operation state in a mobile terminal is provided to maintain a paging function with minimum power consumption by providing a function to activate mobile communication functions at preset time intervals, access a mobile communication network, and release the connection, without any user operation. If the user of a mobile terminal makes a mobile communication function inactivation request, a control part interrupts the power of the modules associated with mobile communication, reduces the frequency of control clocks, and enters into a low-power standby state(601). If the user makes a supplemental service request in the low-power standby state, the control part increases the frequency of control clocks and transits to a low-power access state(602). Afterwards, if no more supplemental service request is generated, the control part transits to the low-power standby state again(603). In case there is no user input in the low-power standby state during a preset time period, the control part establishes an input interrupt and a timer interrupt, stops control clocks, and transits to a low-power suspend state(604). Then, if the input interrupt or the timer interrupt is generated, the control part transits to the low-power standby state(605).
