Computer modeling of continuous-miner cutting systems for dust generation. Report of Investigations/1989

The U.S. Bureau of Mines has developed an interactive computer program that enables the user to identify the effect of cutting-system changes on relative dust generation and forces for continuous-miner drums. The program simultaneously evaluates machine and coal-seam parameters and those parameters that the user can control. One or more of these parameters may be changed to determine their individual or collective effect on relative dust generation and cutting forces. The program is written in the BASIC programming language. A complete program listing is included along with user instructions and sample outputs.
