A smart approach for removing audio distortion of post-processing systems

Running different audio post-processing techniques simultaneously is a challenging problem due to the headroom incompatibility which is causing overall output distortion. Reducing overall input gain, as a traditional approach for removing the distortion, reduces the output quality. We propose a Smart Post-Processing (SPP) algorithm which monitors all post-processing techniques and dynamically adjusts their input gains, in order to prevent the distortion. The major strength of the proposed algorithm is in its ability to detect clipping before the distortion becomes audible to the listener without decreasing the audio quality.
